Handling Specialty experiences sales growth in international rail equipment orders

(Grimsby, ON October 23, 2012)  Handling Specialty Manufacturing, a Whiting Company in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada, is continuing their growth in the sales of heavy duty rail equipment. This international growth stems from orders of portable electric jacks and 50-ton drop tables used for wheel-set and traction motor removal.

Over the past several months, the Grimsby, Ontario, company has received a number of global rail orders; an area of business that has been affected by the state of the world economy and finances for the past several years.

Some of the equipment recently sold includes:
• 50 ton drop tables with work platforms for the removal and maintenance of wheel-sets and traction motors from locomotives
• Traction motor dollies
• 50 ton portable electric jacks for lifting and lowering locomotives
• 10 ton portable electric jacks for lifting and lowering transit vehicles, such as those used in public transportation

Rick Breznik, Transportation Product Manager for Handling Specialty and Whiting in Canada, says he is “thrilled” with the healthy order book, and attributes the upturn in sales to a slowly improving world economy, and countries whose governments are focused on improving infrastructure.

“Rail transportation continues to be one of the primary and most economical ways of transporting goods throughout the world,” says Breznik. “The equipment from Handling Specialty and Whiting is used to maintain valuable rolling stock such as locomotives, passengers and freight cars and is a vital part of the transportation process.”

Rick goes on to say that “Clients are comfortable in choosing to buy equipment from us because Whiting Corporation has been manufacturing heavy duty rail equipment since the late 1800s, and the brand name is recognized all over the world. When companies are making an investment in heavy duty equipment, they want to be confident that they are buying a robust, time tested product that delivers an above average ROI.”

“I’m happy to be a part of these countries progress,” says Breznik, “and I look forward to supporting their continued growth, and economic success in the future.”
